Call for Papers and Panel Session Proposals
The Twenty-Second Annual International
Computer Software and Applications Conference
COMPSAC is the major international forum for researchers, practitioners,
managers, and policy makers interested in computer software and applications.
Experts and leaders from academia, software and computer industries, and
governments will participate in the program. The conference welcomes
original research or practice papers and panel discussion session proposals
on relevant topics. The emphases of the conference will include, but not
limited to, the following topics:

- Collaborative Software Development
- Evolutionary Software Development Life Cycle and Processes
- Software Re-engineering, Maintenance, and Customization
- Object-oriented Analysis and Development
- Distributed Object Technology and Computing Environments

- Visual Programming and Graphical User Interface
- Software and Systems Testing and Evaluation
- Formal Methods and their Applications to Large Projects
- High-Assurance Software: Reliability, Timing, Security and Safety
- Parallel and Distributed Software Engineering
- Network Engineering for Distributed Software
- Client-Server Computing, Internet and World Wide Web
- Internet-based Software Engineering
- Data and Knowledge Engineering
- Multimedia Systems and Virtual Reality
- Modeling and Simulation
- Software Applications: Government Services, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Banking, Health Care, Entertainment, and Consumer Electronics
- Legal and Social Issues
Please submitt your contribution electronically
OR
- Mail six copies of an original (not submitted or published elsewhere) paper (double-spaced) of 3000-5000 words.
- Include the title of the paper, the name and affiliation of each author, a 150-word abstract and up to 8 keywords.
- Include the name, position, address, telephone number, and if possible, fax number and e-mail address of the author responsible for correspondence of the paper.
- Send six copies of panel proposals.
- Include the title, a 150-word scope statement, proposed session chair and panelists and their affiliations and locations.
- Include the organizer's affiliation, address, telephone and fax number, and e-mail address.
In line with its concern for the application of research results and
leading edge technology in industrial practice, COMPSAC '98 will
feature a special track devoted to experience, practitioning
software engineers are ready to share with their peers or
problems they want to make academia aware of. Prospective
authors / presenters are invited to send to the appropriate
program chair:
- six copies of an extended abstract of 400 to 600 words;
- six copies of five to ten sample viewgraphs on the core-part of
the presentation.
- Including title of the experience report, name and affiliation of
each author, and up to 6 keywords.
- Include name, position, address, telephone number, and if possible
fax-number and e-mail address of the responsible author resp. forseen
speaker.
The program committe will decide on the acceptance of these submissions
based on the clear and convincing argument for the success (or failure,
as the case may be) of the application of new technology in an
industrial context.
The extended abstract of accepted submissions (possibly revised based
on suggestions form the programm committee) will be incorporated in
the proceedings. Distributing copies of viewgraphs used during
the oral presentation is at the presenters discretion.
