The First International Collegiate Contest of Mobile Software Development (ICC-MSD2014) provides a way to attract students from colleges and universities worldwide, to learn skills and knowledge how to program on mobile phones, and help companies developing mobile software to get in touch with best mobile software student programmers.

The ICC-MSD 2014 will promote to interested companies original mobile software applications developed by college students.

In 2012 and 2013 the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Office of College and the Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, have organized the “Jiangxi Provincial College Contest of Mobile Software Development”. Overall, 30 colleges and universities and more than 1000 students took part in this contest. Furthermore, the contest news have been reported by the JXTV and the Jiangxi Education TV.

From December 20th to 22rd, 2013, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Nanchang, China, and Tsinghua University Press, Beijing, China organized the “Chinese national mobile commerce coordination innovation conference”. During this event, 70 participants from 27 colleges and universities discussed the idea of the ICC-MSD competition and the plan to publish a series of textbooks and related teaching material for mobile software development.

A contest–focused college alliance consists of more than 50 Chinese colleges and universities that have developed special programs for training mobile software engineers. Members of the alliance proposed to expand the contest to national one (in China) and later to the international one.
