About Guangzhou

Guangzhou, also known as Canton, is the capital and most populous city of the province of Guangdong in southern China. On the Pearl River about 120 km north-northwest of Hong Kong and 145 km north of Macau, Guangzhou has a history of over 2,200 years and was a major terminus of the maritime Silk Road, and continues to serve as a major port and transportation hub, as well as one of China's three largest cities.

There are many attractive sceneries in Guangzhou like Canton Tower, Baiyun Mountain and so on.

  • Canton Tower:
    The Canton Tower, formally Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower, is a 604-meter -tall multipurpose observation tower in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou. It is now the second tallest tower and the fourth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.

  • Baiyun Mountain:
    Baiyun Mountain, also known as White Cloud Mountain, is a mountain located a few miles to the north of Guangzhou, and which is at a height of 427m. Baiyun is Mandarin Chinese for "White Clouds", derived from views of the mountain's peaks shrouded in mist during late Spring or after a rain. Baiyun Mountain is informally known as the "City's Lung", from its greenery. It is also acclaimed as the "First Beauty in Guangzhou”.

  • Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall:
    The Sun Yat-sen or Zhongshan Memorial Hall is an octagon-shaped building in Guangzhou. The hall was built with funds raised by local and overseas Chinese people in memory of Sun Yat-sen. Construction work commenced in 1929 and completed in 1931.
