He is a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems, IEEE Technical Committee on the Internet, and IEEE Technical Committee on Services Computing.

Talk Abstract

NoSQL databases have been widely used for storing and processing big data. Big data is characterized by high volume, velocity, variety, veracity, and value. Big data applications make a greater demand on NoSQL databases in terms of data availability, scalability, and efficiency. To meet such a demand, NoSQL databases make certain trade-offs such as enforcing eventual consistency, use of a simpler data model to support scalability and a lack of appropriate support for referential integrity. The consequence of such trade-offs is that NoSQL databases do not provide straightforward support for implementing transactions. This talk will explore existing big data and NoSQL models. This talk will also cover some aspects of a transaction platform which is developed for big data and NoSQL databases.

Talk Abstract

The speaker will present with the Intelligent education paradigm of hybrid augmentation which with the goals integrating the advantages of human beings in common sense, intuition, reasoning, decision-making, and machines in memory, calculation, search, and optimization, expand the dual cognitive structure of teachers-students into a ternary compound subject of teacher-machine-student, and realize the collaborative evolution, mutual adaptation, and spiral cognitive enhancement of the three. This includes a Big Data platform for creating new system for cultivating students with ‘four precise’ (data collection, assessment, supervision, and assistance). The use of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing to collect and analyse the data. Some cases in the super smart campus of Xi’an Jiaotong university are discussed.
