The First IEEE/ACM Symposium on Edge Computing
Call for Posters/Demos
The First IEEE/ACM Symposium on Edge Computing (SEC 2016) is seeking proposals for posters and live demos on the design, implementation, evaluation and deployment of systems that embody any aspect of edge computing. Topics include, but not limited to:

| - cellular infrastructure for edge computing | - tactile Internet applications |
| - edge-mediated crowd-sourcing | - software infrastructure for cloudlets |
| - edge-based fault-tolerance, replication, consistency and availability | - edge-based real time applications and quality of service |
| - load balancing and service selection at the edge | - edge-based authentication, authorization and billing |
| - resource provisioning and metering of edge infrastructure | - deployment and management of edge services |
| - programming models and tookits for edge computing | - operating system support for edge services, including virtualization and containerization |
| - interactions between the edge and the cloud | - network function virtualization (NFV) at the edge |
| - software defined networking (SDN) for edge computing | - real-time context computing |
Posters are meant to introduce new or ongoing work and provide opportunities for authors to interact directly with conference attendees. Posters are especially suited for presenting controversial research directions that may generate discussion, or promising ideas not yet validated through extensive evaluation. On the other hand, live demos provide an opportunity to give a flavor of real-life applications made possible by your system. Particularly encouraged are the demonstrations that include participation by conference attendees. Research prototypes as well as commercial products are welcome. Demonstrations of previously published systems are also welcome. Posters and demos will be presented during a specially designated session of the conference.
To ensure maximum visibility and to garner high interest in the Poster/Demo Session from all attendees, each accepted poster and demo will have the opportunity to deliver a fast elevator pitch to overview and stir interest in her/his poster.
Submission Instruction
Poster/Demo submissions must include an extended abstract no longer than two 8.5x11-inch pages, including all figures and references. This abstract should be formatted two-column formatting, with a minimum font size of 10 points and a margin of one inch on all sides. The abstract title should begin with either "Poster:" or "Demo:". Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format, and should be emailed to "nadeem@cs.odu.edu" with subject "SEC 2016 - Poster Submission" or "SEC 2016 - Demo Submission".
The abstracts of accepted posters/demos will be posted on the conference website and will appear in the conference proceedings.
Best Poster/Demo
All posters and demos will be considered for the Best Poster Award and the Best Demo Award respectively. An independent review committee will select the winners at the conference.

Submission deadline: June 30, 2016, 11:59 PM EST
Notification of acceptance: July 5, 2016
Camera-ready version due: July 13, 2016
