Web service and Service Science are scientific studies in applying mathematics, statistics, programming, system development and services integration to solve business and various domain problems. Both public and private sectors are adopting services and service-oriented applications to provide reliable and scalable functions. Meanwhile the service-oriented technologies continually evolve to support the demands for more flexibility and responsiveness under dynamic situations. There are urgent needs of service-oriented solutions which consolidate business process, domain knowledge and IT facilities in a coherent manner. How to fulfill divergent requests by leveraging well-defined services remains a great challenge nowadays.
The 2016 International Workshop on Service-Oriented Applications, Integration and Collaboration (SOAIC 2016) is an annual event since 2005. SOAIC has the mission to bridge the gap between business and information technology using service-oriented paradigms, technologies and approaches. It has established itself as a successful international forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences on service-oriented applications and technologies. The workshop seeks for paper submissions in a wide range of related topics including but not limited to the following:
- Service operation, collaboration, testing and management
- Semantic service discovery and mining
- Smarter CaaS, SaaS, and PaaS for Cloud service
- Visualization for service resources management
- Informational city services for urban computing
- Mobile learning services for educational technology
