Workshop Program

Description & Scope

Serverless Computing, as an emerging cloud application computing paradigm, has become a hot topic and attracted more and more attentions in recent years. Meanwhile, many commercial Serverless Computing platforms including Amazon Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, Microsoft Azure Functions, IBM Cloud Functions are available for developers to build their Serverless Computing application. SWoSC aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange innovative ideas, latest research results, practical experiences and lessons learned, and future directions. All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings of IEEE SERVICES Congress 2019 which is published by the IEEE CPS.

We call for original and unpublished papers no longer than 6 pages (up to 2 additional pages may be purchased subject to approval by the Publication Chair). Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Serverless Computing Foundations
  • Programming models and theories for Serverless Computing
  • Standards, protocols, and quality assurance for Serverless Computing
  • Framework and architecture for Serverless Computing
Serverless Computing Platforms and Technologies
  • Innovative, concurrent, and scalable serverless platforms
  • Serverless frameworks and technologies
  • Serverless services and application development methods and tools
  • Cost models, pricing models, and economics of serverless
  • Quality evaluation and assurance technologies for Serverless Computing
  • Open-source technology for Serverless Computing
  • Optimization for Serverless Computing
