| Due to the rapid penetration of sensing and actuation technologies into our
surroundings, cities are getting smarter. In smart cities, information
acquired from the physical space is processed in the cyber space, and provided
to people there. Each of these steps, namely information acquisition, processing,
and provision, is abstracted with cyber physical services that tie those two
spaces. Obviously, these services must be able to cope with one another so that
people can consume them in a rich and flexible way. Hence, it is timely to share cases of smart cities all over the world, identify technical challenges, and showcase state-of-art technologies for next generation smart cities.
The International Workshop on Service Oriented Smart Cities will be held in Matsue, Japan in conjunction with the 2014 7th International Conference on Service Oriented Computing and Applications (SOCA). We invite submissions of high quality papers describing fully developed results or ongoing work on the topics such as but not limited to:

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers that are not
being considered in another forum. Manuscripts will be limited to 4 (IEEE style)
pages. Please follow the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines
to prepare your papers with 8.5'' x 11'', two-column format. The paper formatting
                    instructions are available at http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting.
The papers in the workshops will be published in the SOCA proceedings that will be included in the IEEE Digital Library.
