Best Paper Award and Runner-up (March 14, 2014)
The IC2E 2014 Best Paper Award has been announced. Wolfgang Richter of CMU, Canturk Isci of IBM Research, Jan Harkes and Benjamin Gilbert of CMU, Vasanth Bala of IBM Research, and Mahadev Satyanarayan of CMU have won the Best Paper Award for their paper entitled "Agentless Cloud-wide Streaming of Guest File System Updates". In addition, David Bermbach and Stefan Tai of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have been recognized with a Best Paper Runner-up for their paper entitled "Benchmarking Eventual Consistency: Lessons Learned from Long-Term Experimental Studies". Congratulations!
Registration Open (January 22, 2014)
The IC2E 2014 conference and co-located workshops are now open for registration. Author registration deadline is January 29, 2014. Early-bird registration rate is applicable until February 15, 2014.
Tutorials Announced (November 30, 2013)
IC2E 2014 will offer four tutorials that aim to introduce the latest academic and industrial technologies related to cloud computing. The topics to be covered by the tutorials include large-scale cloud testbeds such as GENI and Grid'5000, open source cloud platforms such as OpenStack and CloudFoundry, as well as cloud-hosted databases.
Co-located Workshops (September 30, 2013)
IC2E 2014 will host five workshops. These workshops will cover a variety of hot topics related to cloud computing and engineering: cloud analytics, software-defined systems, future of PaaS, cloud for signal processing, and interclouds. Workshop papers will be published by IEEE in the same volume of proceedings as the IC2E main conference. Selected workshop papers will also appear in a special issue of the International Journal on Big Data Intelligence.
Deadline Extension (September 14, 2013)
Based upon many requests, the Program Chairs of IC2E 2014 have extended the deadlines for submissions to the main conference program. The deadline for abstract registration has been extended to September 29, 2013. The deadline for manuscript submission has been extended to October 6, 2013.
IC2E 2014 Keynote Speakers (August 23, 2013)
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Stuart Feldman of Google and Professor Michael Stonebraker of MIT will be the keynote speakers at IC2E 2014. Dr. Feldman is Vice President of Engineering at Google, where he has executive responsibility for Google’s engineering offices in the eastern part of the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Professor Stonebraker, hailed as “Big Data Forefather”, is Co-Director of the new Intel Science and Technology Center at MIT focused on big data.
IC2E 2014 on Social Media (July 1, 2013)
IC2E now has a Facebook page and a Twitter account. To get latest updates on IC2E 2014, please like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
Journal Special Issue (June 7, 2013)
IC2E has made an arrangement with the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC). Select papers from IC2E 2014 will be published in a special issue of TCC.

Cloud computing has emerged as a new paradigm for the use and delivery of
information technology (IT), and is revolutionizing the support of on-demand
access, economies of scale and dynamic sourcing options. In the cloud context,
a wide range of IT resources and capabilities, including servers, networking,
storage, middleware, data, security, applications, and business processes, are
available as services enabled for rapid provisioning, flexible pricing,
elastic scaling and resilience. These new forms of IT services are challenging
conventional wisdom and practices. To fully reap the benefits of the cloud
service model requires holistic treatment of key technical and business
issues, and engineering methodology that draws upon innovations in diverse
areas of computer science and business informatics.
The IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering (IC2E) seeks to provide
a high-quality and comprehensive forum, where researchers and practitioners
involved in the development of cloud infrastructure and applications can
exchange information on engineering principles, enabling technologies, and
practical experiences as related to cloud computing. By bringing together
experts that work on different levels of the cloud stack - systems, storage,
networking, platforms, databases, and applications, IC2E offers an end-to-end
view on the challenges and technologies in cloud computing, fosters research
that addresses the interaction between different layers of the stack, and
ultimately helps shape the future of cloud-transformed business and society.
