VR 2007 07 Call for Participation: Student Volunteers 07 07

07

Submissions for VR 2007 are now closed. Please see the advance program for a list of accepted submissions.

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic student volunteers (SVs) to help "make it all happen." SVs typically commit to ten to twenty hours of volunteer effort and play an important role in helping run the conference.

Benefits

As an SV for IEEE VR, you will have an outstanding opportunity to learn about VR research and applications and to interact with those who work in the field. SVs typically receive full conference registration, proceedings, snacks, a t-shirt, and other items of appreciation based on level of commitment. In addition, some portion of lodging costs will also be covered. The specific benefits for IEEE VR 2007 SVs are being worked out and will be available soon.

What do SVs have to do?

The duties of an SV are various; they can include helping out at the registration desk, monitoring a paper session or workshop, assisting in organizing a special event, monitoring the exhibit booth, and just helping out and running errands or odds and ends. These are all the little details that make the conference run smoothly.

You will have to work during the conference, but you will be able to work many of your hours during times when there are no sessions. Additionally, many volunteer tasks allow you some interaction with the conference; for instance, assistants in the demo rooms can watch demonstrations and A/V assistants will be able to watch paper sessions while they work. You will not get to attend all of the conference, of course, but we will try our best to let you attend the events you are most interested in.

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled as students at the time of the conference.

Applying - DEADLINE November 3, 2006!
