Edge Services: New Challenges at the Edge

In the edge computing environment, many studies are conducted from the telecoms’ perspective, or the end-devices’ perspective, e.g., computation, service placement, etc. In fact, edge computing also raises many new research problems that challenge service providers like iQiyi and Didi, who are critical stakeholders in the edge computing environment. This keynote presentation will cover a series of these new research problems in edge resource management and edge security.

Dr. Qiang He is an Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His main research interests include edge computing, services computing, cloud computing and software engineering. He has published over 150+ papers, including 50+ published on ACM/IEEE Transactions. He received five Best (Student) Paper awards at conferences including ICWS, ICSOC and SCC. He is the world’s first researcher to study edge computing systematically from the service provider’s perspective.
