2021 IEEE SERVICES - IEEE International Symposium on AI in Cloud Software Engineering and Operations (AI-CloudSEO)

AI-CloudSEO Technical Program

Call for Papers

Invited speakers and panelists of the Symposium can submit papers via EasyChair per the instructions provided below. Registration fee for the invited speakers/panelists is waived. A panelist can publish a position statement with no more than 3 pages without a fee. Registration fee for a paper with 4 or more pages can be waived by General Chair upon request.

With the advent of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, new generation of applications are being conceived, responding to ever growing demands of the market space. In parallel, artificial intelligence is becoming an essential enabler for successful business enterprise. With such importance being placed on AI enabled applications, the management of these applications becomes a key issue both for the providers and users.

The challenge facing management of AI enabled computing lies in the complexity of the environment, comprising as it does a multiplicity of network technologies, competing and cooperating cloud and traditional computing providers. There is work done by some researchers and practitioners that laid the foundation for handling this complexity. There is a considerable set of problems to be solved, e.g., (1) designing management architecture and appropriate algorithmic support for such end-to-end management; (2) modeling management information and establishing shared management knowledge; and (3) achieving security. The main goal of this symposium is to present research and experience results in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning for service management of hybrid applications, possibly employing AI themselves. Approaches such as statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning are promising mechanisms to harness observability data and to improve operations and management such systems.

The inaugural IEEE International Symposium on AI in Cloud Software Engineering and Operations (AI-CloudSEO) aims to bring academia and industry subject matter experts together to discuss advances in this area. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Observability with AI
  • Anomaly detection
  • Fault localization and root cause analysis
  • Predictive and proactive service management
  • Automation for remediation and mitigation
  • Security and compliance
  • AI for energy efficiency of cloud operations
  • Continuous improvement for AI-powered cloud services
  • AI for Cyberinfrastructure

The symposium will feature distinguished speakers from industry and academia, research panels, technical presentations, and much more; stay tuned for the agenda. It will be held as a cross-conference symposium at IEEE SERVICES 2021. Technical papers are welcome to be submitted to the special track on “AI in Cloud Software Engineering and Operations” of IEEE CLOUD 2021, see CFP web page of IEEE CLOUD 2021 for details and submission deadlines. A Special Paper Award will be provisioned for the special track as well. We extend an invitation to all to participate and make it a success.
