Call for Participation

YESC Technical Program

The inaugural IEEE International Symposium on Young Experts in Services Computing (YESC) aims to facilitate the communication and collaboration among worldwide students and young professionals in services computing and to curate rising stars in services computing. It is a cross-conference event at IEEE SERVICES 2021. It is sponsored jointly by IEEE SERVICES, IEEE Technical Committee on Services Computing (TCSVC), and CCF (China Computer Federation) Technical Committee on Service Computing (TCSC).

Services computing technologies have become essential in all aspects of IT, including modern distributed systems, web-enabled information and API services, cloud IoT/edge environment, AI and ML platforms, and impactful consumer and enterprise XaaS. Young experts in services computing are crucial to the ongoing transdisciplinary evolution of the IT industry and the digital world. The IEEE YESC Symposium provides a unique forum for students and young professionals to get engaged with the IEEE SERVICES community and to sharpen their soft skills.

Besides paper presentation sessions, the Symposium will feature acceptance speech of the annual IEEE TCSVC Rising Star Award, distinguished speeches, panels, recording-based presentation award competition, and Hackathon. The Symposium is open for free to all IEEE SERVICES 2021 attendees. We extend an invitation to all to participate and make it a success. Please stay tuned for further updates.

YESC Presentation Awards

The YESC Symposium will provide a YESC Presentation Award to each of the affiliated conferences of IEEE SERVICES. Each awardee will receive an IEEE certificate and a cash prize of USD 200.00. The candidate must be an IEEE TCSVC YESC member and the presenter of a recorded video for an accepted conference research paper. Application instructions will be provided.

Hackathon

Instructions for a hackathon on quantum software and services will be announced soon. A winning team will receive an IEEE SERVICES award certificate and a USD 500.00 cash prize. Please stay tuned for update on this year’s hackathon events.
